Please go through the entire novel, picking out textual evidence that illustrate Catherine Linton's character.
Every student is to make at least one post. Please key in your inputs in this manner:

  1. TOPIC SENTENCE explaining what your point is. E.g. "Catherine Linton resembles CE because ... "
  2. ELABORATION of your Topic Sentence.
  3. Relevant TEXTUAL REFERENCE (in V?C?p? format).
  4. Your NAME

Fastest fingers first! If you post earlier, you will be less likely to run out of ideas!

If ALL points have been raised, you can still contribute to the assignment by adding OTHER RELEVANT TEXTUAL REFERENCES. Just add them into the relevant boxes, and append your name.

cheers!

Catherine Linton Character Study

Similarities with Catherine Earnshaw

Differences from Catherine Earnshaw

EXAMPLE:
TS: CL,like CE, is ABC. In the second half of the novel,
CL ... just like how CE did it in the first half of the text.
EVIDENCE: "XYZ" (V1C2P3)
By: Wee Liang Tong

TS: Catherine Liton was just as aggressive as Catherine Earnshaw
and misbehaved just like her mother did.
Catherine’s father did not love her because she was forever misbehaving.
He once told her, “Nay Cathy, I cannot love thee; thou’rt worse than thy brother.
Go, say thy prayers, child, and ask God’s pardon.
I doubt thy mother and I must rue the day we ever reared thee!”
Relating to Lockwood, Nelly noted that young Catherine was such a “wild, wicked slip”
that she never seemed as content as when she was being scolded. V1C5Pg36

TS: Catherine Linton has the native energy and just like her mother
in the using of words.
Evidence:" Besides of all, he has selected my favourite pieces that i love the
most to repeat, as if out of deliberate malice!"
here, catherine linton is deleberately being vicious and curting towards Hareton
which resembles how Catherine Earnshaw actually treated Nelly through the words
and how she reprimanded Nelly.
For Catherine Linton and Catherine Earnshaw, servants are abject beings with no will of
their own, who must be "made to do as i ask". therefore, their attitude and their curt
words makes them similar. V2C17Pg267

TS: Catherine linton, unlike Catherine Earnshaw, the first impression that she
gave to other people, especially Lockwood is a good one. Catherine Linton is
beautiful.
Evidence: From lockwood, he described Catherine as
"a real goddess in my eyes" and also, "she's a beauty"
She was also decribed as the one who was the most winning thing that ever brought
sunshine into a desolate house, a real beauty in face.
Hence, Catherine Linton's appearance is nicer as compared to Catherine Earnshaw's
V2C17Pg265 and V1C1Pg3
